The way to gain influence is to develop your skill in such a way people can't do without needing them, for you will earn your respect not by the words you speak but by your spirit of excellent. The Holy book says and i quote, "Let your light shine before men that they may see your good work and praise your father in heaven".
Being Excellent can de describe as
doing the right thing even when no one is watching, doing the right thing even when you are experiencing wrong from things hapening around you.
Don't feel discourage by the actions of your Boss or your Colleagues at work, Keep doing your best with the spirit of excellence, keep doing your work with all your heart.
When u dress to look good, you are complementing the gift of God in your life so also when you are at your best either in your place of work, home or anywhere and then you will be exulting your creator. Whatsoever you do try as much as you can to get better at it, find out how you can improve by not to be at the same skill level next year than you are now.
Grow your steps by consistently developing your gift. Be a person of excellence as upright as the words you speak. It should be a part of your nature to improve by being proactive. Developing ones ability inside out is a means of shapening one's skills.
A man that is not growing is at great disadvantage to himself, that moment you stop improving is when you stop growing and when you stop growing you become stagnant and begin to depreciate gradually untill you become useless.
For it is written, if someone ask you to walk a mile with him, go ahead and Walk two miles, whatever is expected of you is expected and requires you to exceed the expectations.
